The name for the gasoline powered machine for clearing brush is derived from the earlier practice of using hogs to clear and fertilize a field before planting crops.  While we don’t have hogs, we have Navaho-Churro sheep for this purpose.  Our small flock can clear an acre in no time and provide plenty of organic fertilizer  in the process. Great green alternative to herbicides.  They LOVE poison ivy.
